Senior Correspondent, Mergers and Acquisitions

The Capitol Forum is seeking a senior correspondent to cover mergers and acquisitions.  The position will require the reporter to write clear, in-depth, accurate stories. As we often work collaboratively in teams, you will also be expected to provide your input where appropriate. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our coverage.

POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze regulatory risks for companies and industries in consumer protection space
• Analyze federal import/export control regulations to conduct a comprehensive foreign investment risk assessment of proposed mergers and acquisitions
• Apply qualitative and quantitative methods, techniques, and models to interpret and analyze data
• Track, analyze and evaluate foreign investment regime actions by the United States, the United Kingdom, the People’s Republic of China, Australia, the Russian Federation, and the European Union
• Prepare, review, edit, and finalize written reports concerning content and style with the most objective perspective on how policy, specific regulation or regulatory action may affect a specific company and industry

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations, or a closely related field plus 6 months of experience in regulatory research
• Experience must include 6 months’ experience with each of the following:
  • 1) Qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • 2) Regulatory risk assessment
  • 3) Pacer Case Locator
  • 3) Meltwater
  • 4) Bloomberg Terminal
