The Capitol Forum is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Stupp as Senior Correspondent in Brussels, further strengthening our growing European newsroom and deepening our coverage of digital regulation. Stupp brings extensive experience reporting on the policies and enforcement trends shaping Europe’s technology and data-security landscape.

Stupp joins The Capitol Forum from The Wall Street Journal, where she spent seven years covering cybersecurity and privacy in both New York and Brussels. Her reporting has focused on hacking, data breaches, cybercrime, and the regulatory frameworks that govern digital markets, providing readers with a clear understanding of the risks and policy decisions shaping the modern economy.

Earlier in her career, Stupp reported for Euractiv, the Los Angeles Times, and other European and U.S. publications, covering technology policy, European politics, and regulatory affairs. She holds a master’s degree from the Free University of Berlin and a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College.

Teddy Downey, CEO and Executive Editor of The Capitol Forum, said: “Catherine’s arrival strengthens a critical area of our coverage at a time when digital regulation is reshaping markets globally. Her reporting experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue expanding our footprint in Europe and delivering the high-impact journalism our subscribers depend on.”

Stupp will contribute to The Capitol Forum’s reporting on the increasingly complex relationship between technology, regulation, and market behavior — an area of heightened importance for policymakers, investors, and global industries navigating rapid change.

Javier Espinoza, Europe Executive Editor, added: “Catherine is an exceptional addition to our Brussels team and will play an important role in broadening our coverage of Europe’s most consequential regulatory developments.”

Stupp joins a growing European team under Espinoza’s leadership that combines investigative rigor with nuanced analysis of the decisions shaping Europe’s markets. Her reporting will further enhance The Capitol Forum’s specialized coverage of the regulatory forces transforming digital and data-driven industries.
