The Capitol Forum is pleased to announce the appointment of Kait Bolongaro as Senior Editor. Her appointment will strengthen our European reporting team and significantly expand our coverage of EU mergers and merger control.
Bolongaro rejoins The Capitol Forum as Senior Editor covering mergers and acquisitions across Europe. She arrives from MLex, where she spent five years, most recently as Managing Editor for Europe, leading a 30-strong editorial team across Brussels and London and setting the editorial direction for coverage of the EU and UK. She joined MLex in 2021 as Senior Editor for the EU and UK.
She previously covered Canadian politics and government for Bloomberg News in Ottawa, reporting on NATO, G7 and G20 summits, and spent three years at Politico Europe covering EU policy. Her freelance work has appeared in the BBC, The Guardian, NPR, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle and The Irish Times.
Her reporting has won gold at the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing’s Best in Business Canada Awards and a silver medal from the United Nations Correspondents Association for environmental reporting. She is completing a PhD in far-right politics and speaks English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
