Momodu Gondo is The Capitol Forum’s Director of Community and Events. He helps lead the firm’s event series and works to strengthen relationships among our subscribers and between The Capitol Forum and the broader communities in which we operate.
Mr. Gondo brings an extraordinary personal history to this work. As a young Baltimore police officer, he survived a shooting that left him paralyzed and subsequently relearned how to walk. Later he became involved in serious criminal misconduct while serving in the Baltimore Police Department. He pleaded guilty to federal charges arising from that conduct and served a prison sentence. Since returning home, Mr. Gondo has devoted himself to rebuilding his life and serving others, including through his work as a trainer and mentor. His experience—of policing, corruption, incarceration, accountability, recovery, and second chances—gives him an unusual ability to connect with people across backgrounds and to create space for difficult, honest conversations.
