Sales Development Representative (United States – Location Flexible)

The Capitol Forum is hiring a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support our business development team by prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting meetings. This is a junior, high-impact role designed for someone early in their sales career who is eager to learn, develop strong prospecting skills, and grow into a closing role over time. 

ABOUT US

The Capitol Forum is an independent media agency that delivers investigative news and in-depth analysis of industry-defining competition policy issues to an influential subscriber base that includes investors, regulators, lawyers, and policymakers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prospect and cold-call potential clients. 

• Qualify leads and schedule meetings for senior sales team members. 

• Support outbound sales campaigns through email and phone outreach. 

• Maintain accurate records of outreach and activity in CRM. 

• Research prospective accounts and identify key decision-makers. 

• Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and Directors to support pipeline growth. 

• Meet defined activity and performance KPIs tied to commission. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

• 1–2 years of experience in a SDR role , business development, or client-facing roles. 

• Strong communication skills and comfort engaging prospects by phone. 

• Highly organized, persistent, and goal-oriented. 

• Interest in financial markets, regulation, or investigative journalism is a plus. 

• Coachable mindset and eagerness to grow in a sales career. 

COMPENSATIONS AND BENEFITS

• Base salary: $50,000–$60,000, plus commission tied to KPIs.
