The Capitol Forum is hiring a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support our business development team by prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting meetings. This is a junior, high-impact role designed for someone early in their sales career who is eager to learn, develop strong prospecting skills, and grow into a closing role over time.

The Capitol Forum is an independent media agency that delivers investigative news and in-depth analysis of industry-defining competition policy issues to an influential subscriber base that includes investors, regulators, lawyers, and policymakers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect and cold-call potential clients.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for senior sales team members.
- Support outbound sales campaigns through email and phone outreach.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and activity in CRM.
- Research prospective accounts and identify key decision-makers.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and Directors to support pipeline growth.
- Meet defined activity and performance KPIs tied to commission.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a SDR role , business development, or client-facing roles.
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging prospects by phone.
- Highly organized, persistent, and goal-oriented.
- Interest in financial markets, regulation, or investigative journalism is a plus.
- Coachable mindset and eagerness to grow in a sales career.
COMPENSATIONS AND BENEFITS
- Base salary: $50,000–$60,000, plus commission tied to KPIs.
