Charter/Cox: Alleged Price Gouging for High-Speed Broadband May Influence California Merger Review

Charter Communications (CHTR) charges higher prices for high-speed broadband in markets without rivals than in places with competition, a California agency said in a study that may prod state regulators to demand pricing caps in exchange for clearing the cable company’s proposed $34.5 billion acquisition of Cox Communications.
