Conference Call: Antitrust at a Crossroads – Geopolitics, Mergers, and AI Enforcement

Thu, Dec 18, 2025 | 9:30 am ET

On Thursday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m. ET / 15:30 CET, The Capitol Forum will host Dr. Jorge Padilla, Chair of Compass Lexecon International, for a wide-ranging discussion with Europe Executive Editor Javier Espinoza on how global political dynamics are shaping the future of competition policy and merger control.

As the European Union and United States navigate shifting alliances, national security concerns, and rapid advances in artificial intelligence, competition authorities are under growing pressure to evolve. This call will explore how those pressures are playing out in both jurisdictions—from telecom mergers and foreign investment scrutiny to the challenges AI poses to traditional antitrust tools.
