On Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. ET, The Capitol Forum will host a conference call with Jon Schweppe, Director of Policy Initiatives at American Principles Project. This timely discussion will examine new policy proposals aimed at addressing housing affordability, including Schweppe’s recent proposal to create tax-advantaged Home Savings Accounts (HomeSAs) designed to help Americans save for homeownership. Drawing on his experience in federal policymaking and his work on affordability-focused policy initiatives, Schweppe will discuss how savings incentives, tax policy, and federal housing strategy could reshape access to homeownership.
We’ll also touch on topics such as:
• The structure and policy rationale behind Home Savings Accounts
• How tax incentives could influence homeownership and housing affordability
• The role of federal policy in addressing demand-side housing challenges
• How housing affordability is shaping broader economic and political debates
• What policymakers, investors, and market participants should watch going forward
We hope you can join us for what promises to be an insightful and forward-looking conversation.
