Kait Bolongaro is an award-winning journalist, specializing in policy and politics. Prior to joining The Capitol Forum, she was the Managing Editor for Europe at MLex, where she led a newsroom of 30 journalists covering regulation in the EU and UK. In this role, she was a fellow at the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women.
She was also previously the Canadian politics correspondent at Bloomberg, a competition correspondent at The Capitol Forum and an EU policy reporter at Politico Europe. She was also a freelancer covering stories from five continents for outlets including the BBC, The Guardian, NPR, Al Jazeera, VICE and Deutsche Welle, among others. Her reporting has won numerous awards, including a gold medal at the SABEW Canada Awards and a silver medal from the UN Correspondents’ Association for an investigation into water pollution in China.
She holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Journalism, Media, and Globalization from Aarhus University and the University of Hamburg, and a Bachelor’s Degree in French and African Studies from the University of British Columbia. She is also completing her doctorate about how the Brussels Press Corps covers the radical right.
